Ben Giles Interviews on UMD Football

  1. There are several technical aspects of my audio feature that I'd like to improve. The first is simply the sound editing, and use of ambient noise. I took two minutes of ambient sound in the library's computer lab, and perhaps should have layered that under all the tracks on my feature. The probably may also have been that the ambient sound I recorded simply wasn't that compelling or crucial to the story; everyone is supposed to be quiet in a library anyway, so maybe it just wasn't that important, and I should be concerned with it.

I also think I could have found people who were a bit more passionate about the football team. Again, a library is not a place for loud noises, so perhaps a different location would have been better to look for subjects to interview.

I need to work on tightening up my narrative scripts as well. If I can improve the quality of the script that I write, I think I'll be able to be more clear and intelligible when I narrate the story. For several transitions, I simply knew what I wanted to say and tried to say it. But after reading more on the editing chapter, I see how important it is to write everything possible down on paper before you say it.
